FAQs > Accreditation

August 30, 2016.  Today CBT Canada became the first organization to be certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada to provide three-credits-per-hour CME in the new Mainpro+ system. In his assessment of our workshops, one CFPC accreditation reviewer wrote, "Two words: superlative & exemplary."

The new three-credits-per-hour CME has some distinct advantages over conventional CME—including financial (details).

All workshops are three-credits-per-hour (3:1) certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for Mainpro+ group learning credits. In other words, three (3) credits are awarded for every one (1) instructional hour. The majority of modules are 3.0 instructional hours, which corresponds to 9.0 Mainpro+ credits.

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada now accepts the CFPC's Mainpro+ credits as equivalent to MOC credits for Section 1 (i.e., Group Learning). A standard 3.0 hour, 9.0 Mainpro+ credit module counts at 9.0 MOC credits in MAINPORT.

The reciprocity agreement between the American Academy of Family Physicians & the College of Family Physicians of Canada is such that Mainpro+ credits are considered equivalent to Prescribed credits. AAFP members may thus claim up to 9.0 Prescribed credits per 3.0 hour module. See AAFP (2020) for details.
